About the Author:
Marin grew up in the Midwest town of Janesville, Wisconsin. Typical of small-town kids, all Marin could think about was how to leave after she graduated from high school. She was positive the world had more to offer than what she'd seen so far.
Little did she know until she was older that her 6"1" height would be her ticket out. She accepted a scholarship to play basketball at the University of Missouri in Columbia where she enrolled in the school of journalism. After two years, warm weather and the Pac Ten beckoned. She transferred to the University of Arizona at Tucson where she played center for the Lady Wildcats. Marin was inducted in May 2005 into the Janesville Sports Hall of Fame for her basketball accomplishments.
While at Arizona, she developed an interest in fiction writing and obtained a BA in radio-television. Upon graduation, she married her college sweetheart in a five-minute ceremony in Las Vegas. Over the years she's held various jobssupervisor for a family owned craft company, AT&T service representative, manager and substitute teacher.
Her husband's career in public relations has taken them to Arizona, California, New Jersey, Colorado, Texas and Chicago, where she now calls the Windy City home. Marin can now boast that she's seen what's "out there." Amazingly enough, she's a living testament to the old adage "You can take the girl out of the small town but you can't take the small town out of the girl." Marin's heart still lies in small-town life, which she loves to write about in her books.
